Tennessee Titans on the wrong side of history vs. Detroit Lions

Tennessee Titans on the wrong side of history vs. Detroit Lions

The Tennessee Titans trailed by several points against the Detroit Lions in Week 8 as they simply fell short in all three phases of the game.

In the three periods, the Titans were particularly poor on special teams, where they allowed the Lions to pull off a performance not seen in a long time.

The Titans have provided several major successes to specialist Kalif Raymond, who played for Tennessee from 2018 to 2020.

Raymond has given up 188 yards on four returns so far, which may be the best in the NFL this week. Additionally, Raymond also caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Jared Goff midway through the third quarter, helping to extend Detroit's lead.

The Titans actually outran the Lions for three quarters. Still, they're five touchdowns behind, mostly because the special teams have been atrocious so far today.

If the Titans want to turn their season around and look competitive in games later in the season, they will need to clean up in all three phases, especially on special teams.

The Lions lead the Titans 52-14 late in the third quarter.
