The best moments from the World Series rally at Dodger Stadium

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Los Angeles had to wait 36 years, but Dodger fans finally got the parade everyone wanted.

I was in the stands at Dodger Stadium as Dave Roberts, Kiké, Freddie, Shohei and the rest of the Dodgers celebrated their World Series title in front of the fans. Here were some of the best moments.

Tribute to Fernando Valenzuela

Before the players arrived at the stadium, actor Edward James Olmos sang the crowd “Happy Birthday” to Fernando Valenzuela. The parade took place on the Dodgers icon's 64th birthday.

Ice cubes

Rapper Ice Cube opened the party with a performance of “It Was a Good Day.” Even manager Dave Roberts got in on the fun.

Clayton Kershaw

Clayton Kershaw only made a few starts in the regular season, but fans understood how much he meant to the organization by giving him perhaps the loudest ovation.

“I had nothing to do with this championship, but this is the best feeling in the world,” Kershaw said.

He then raised the trophy triumphantly.

“I had nothing to do in this championship, but it feels like the best feeling in the world to be able to celebrate with you,” said Kershaw. “Thanks. Dodgers for life.”

Teoscar Hernandez

Teoscar Hernández has only spent one season in Dodger blue but has quickly become a fan favorite. The outfielder was visibly emotional as he addressed fans, holding back tears.

Fans immediately showed him their love and chanted his name.

“Thank you for making me world champion!” He said to finish his speech.

“I play this game to win, and the Dodgers gave me the opportunity to come here so I can help this organization, this city, this team, these people win a championship,” Hernández said

A rare moment – Shohei Ohtani spoke English as he addressed fans. Ohtani usually only speaks Japanese in public, but it was a special moment as he took the time to speak from the heart in English.

His Japanese star colleague Yoshinobu Yamamoto also thanked the Dodger fans in English.

Shohei Ohtani, who normally speaks his native Japanese, thanked fans in English during the celebration at Dodger Stadium.

Kike Hernandez

Fan favorite Kiké Hernández was the life of the party during the rally. He started by asking the crowd, “Are we live?” – a reference to his interview with Ken Rosenthal when he swore on live television after the Dodgers eliminated the Padres.

“Who else won more championships than us in the 2020s? Absolutely no one,” the utility said as the crowd erupted.

During his onstage speech during Friday's championship celebration at Dodger Stadium, Kiké Hernández poked fun at rapper Fat Joe's performance before Game 3 of the World Series in New York.
