The New York Knicks Stars Podcast cracks the list of the most influential stars

New York Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart's hosting skills extend far beyond the hardwood of Madison Square Garden.

Brunson and Hart received special mention on Sports Illustrated's list of the most influential people in sports: their highly acclaimed podcast “Roommates Show” continues to make headlines and provide high-level analysis, discussion and humor, and was named “Power List” praised in the category “Influencers” the “athletes behind the microphone”.

“The concept of athletes venturing into the media space is not new, but player podcasts have been particularly impactful over the last year,” wrote SI’s Zach Koons. “NBA players have long been at the forefront of this field. Paul George analyzes his decision to join the 76ers on Podcast P, Draymond Green apologizes for a series of on-court incidents on his self-titled podcast, and Knicks teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart enjoy their Roommates show.

Along with co-host, mutual friend and entrepreneur Matt Hillman, Brunson and Hart launched The Roommates Show last season, their first full campaign as NBA employees. The series, which showcases the close friendship between Brunson and Hart that they developed as teammates on the Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team, welcomed several notable guests from each player's past and present, including Mark Cuban, Jay Wright and even Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Legions of Knicks fans and beyond have shown their support for Brunson and Hart through live performances of the Roommates Show, which drew large crowds during visits to Fanatics Fest at the Javits Center and Central Park earlier this summer.

In addition to Brunson and Hart, Amazon/ESPN soccer commentator Kirk Herbstreit (as well as his dog Ben), Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, LSU women's basketball star Flau'jae Johnson, Olympic rugby hero Ilona Maher and ESPN were among the most notable Sports influencer personality Stephen A. Smith, who often went viral for his rants about the Knicks.
