The November 15th Android security patch is rolling out to Pixel

After the stable release last month, the first update to Android 15 is rolling out with the November security patch for Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL and 9 Pro Fold.

Pixel patches are no longer guaranteed to arrive on the first Monday of the month, but they are typically still released. So this midweek update is a bit unexpected.

In the November 15th Android patch from November 1st, 2024, 21 security issues were fixed; for November 5th, 2024 there were 23. The vulnerabilities range from high to critical. CVE-2024-43047 (Kernel) and (CVE-2024-43093) Elevation of privilege “may be subject to limited, targeted exploitation.”

The special bulletin for Google devices lists three additional security fixes.

The factory and OTA images are now live, along with the update on the device.
