The Padres' Jurickson Profar attempted a goodwill gesture toward Dodgers fans just before objects were thrown at him

During Game 2 of the NLDS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres, a line was crossed by fans in the bottom of the seventh inning at Dodger Stadium, and videos of spectators in the stands that surfaced on social media show moments that date back to the present day – infamous lag in the game.

Padres left fielder Jurickson Profar was irate in the outfield after the FOX broadcast showed objects being thrown in his direction from the stands. Fans threw baseballs and beer cans at him, leading to a complete stoppage of play as the Dodger Stadium announcer pleaded with fans to stop throwing objects onto the field.

But just before Profar was seen yelling at fans in the stands, he attempted to show a goodwill gesture to a fan in the short left field seats by handing him a baseball.

It was the first of many thrown onto the field by fans in the wild scene during this postseason rivalry.

In a video posted by a fan on social media, Profar and the Dodgers fan, who was wearing a white and blue Los Angeles home jersey, were seen talking to the Padres left fielder and everything seemed perfectly fine be. Profar had a ball in his hand and it was clear that he was going to give it to the fan.

But as soon as the fan had the ball in his hands, he immediately threw it toward third base and the Dodgers faithful began to cheer. However, fans who appeared to be right behind him shouted “No!” as Profar waved off the disposal of his souvenir before returning to his seat.

For some reason, Profar had an interaction with the fans in the left field seats early in the game when he robbed a home run from Mookie Betts. Profar seemed to have that very fan in the front row in mind as he jumped up and down before showing Betts the ball as he rounded the bases and thought he had hit it.

When the fan threw the first ball onto the field, there was a security guard sitting right next to him on the wall, but nothing came of this throw onto the field. However, that changed when the video showed another ball being thrown at Profar from a direction behind the camera's owner.

At this point, Profar was starting to get upset as the left field umpire turned to stadium security to find out who threw the ball at him.

As fans in left field erupted in boos, Profar can be seen yelling at them. And although it wasn't seen in that video, another ball was thrown at Profar in the broadcast, causing a delay in the game as Padres manager Mike Shildt walked onto the field with his outfielder, heated over what was happening came.

Profar had to be calmed down by his teammates, and after the inning, third baseman Manny Machado gathered everyone in the dugout to spread the message of staying focused, which he did after the team's dominant 10-2 win to tie the series in a game revealed per person before heading back to San Diego.

From this moment on, more videos will likely emerge that everyone hopes are one-offs, as no one wants things to escalate between players and fans in the stands to the point where the game has to be stopped.

However, this is a heated NL West rivalry after all, and it doesn't help that videos from the stands also show Fernando Tatis Jr. taunting Dodgers fans until the end of the game, whether in the dugout or in center field .
