The recruitment of top candidate AJ Dybantsa could come to an end sooner rather than later. With rumors that Dybantsa is close to making a decision, there's a hint that his recruitment isn't good news for North Carolina.

On Wednesday, 247Sports recruiting analyst Travis Branham gave his crystal ball prediction for Dybantsa. And it's not going to North Carolina.

Instead, Branham chose the in-state program BYU.

Now it may seem surprising that BYU made this crystal ball pick, but the Cougars have been the leader in this recruiting for some time, according to reporters. With NIL being a factor in recruiting, it opens the door for a program like BYU to land a top recruit like this situation.

Branham is currently the only prediction for Dybantsa, with a certainty of six. As we mentioned, crystal ball predictions are no guarantee, but because they come from a national analyst, they show where recruiting is trending.

This is bad news for North Carolina. The Tar Heels are in the market for Dybantsa, hoping to land the top recruit for their 2025 class, which currently has one player committed.

UNC hasn't stopped recruiting him and probably won't until he makes his decision. However, this shows that they are behind at least once in this recruitment. Can they make up some ground? They better hurry up because it feels like they're running out of time.
