The second matchday of the Champions League 2024/25 ended with several surprising results and real upsets in the overall standings. In the key game against Barça, the Blaugrana team recovered from the defeat against Monaco with a solid win against Young Boys (5-0), which allowed Hansi Flick's team to stay in the play-off places for the round of 16 , while Madrid suffered an embarrassing defeat in Lille (1-0).
