Another NBA season has begun, which means the Detroit Pistons find themselves in a familiar place: They've sunk to the bottom of the league standings.

The Pistons are tied with Milwaukee for last place in the Eastern Conference at 1-5. Utah is the only winless team in the league at 0-6.

The Nets, picked worse than the Pistons this season as they commit to a rebuild, are hitting .500 through six games. They are the first Pistons opponent that wasn't a playoff team last season.

The Pistons need to bounce back from Friday's embarrassing 128-98 loss to the New York Knicks, which led to a first-half rotation change that paid big dividends for Cade Cunningham. But the game was already out of reach.

Cam Thomas, the Nets' fourth-year guard, ranked ninth in the NBA entering Saturday, scoring 28.2 points per game on 20.3 shots per game and 44.3% shooting, including three 3-pointers per game game (35.3%) and 91.5% free throws (7.2 of 7.8).

The Pistons play again on Monday, hosting LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers (4-2).
