Missouri poll workers are among five dead in flash flooding

At least five people died after torrential rain led to a lightning strike flooding in the center and in the east Missouriimpacting transport and making it difficult for some voters to get to their polling place on Tuesday.

Officials say two poll workers in Wright County drowned while trying to swim to dry ground after their vehicle was swept into floodwaters.

The Rocky Mountains are being hit by the first major winter storm of the season

The season's first major winter storm will devastate the Rocky Mountains, with the FOX Forecast Center saying Colorado and New Mexico may see the biggest impact.

Computer forecast models show slightly different variations in the system's path, but they all seem to agree that significant precipitation, including snow, ice, sleet and rain, is expected across the region.

The winter weather is expected to begin on Wednesday and could last through the weekend.

Watch: Las Vegas Dust Devil Causes Damage

A Las Vegas couple escaped when they were hit by a powerful dust devil that was heading toward their home, and video showed the whole ordeal unfolding. Ring camera video from Valerie Pavlov showed three people walking into the house seconds before the twister kicked up the tiles in the backyard and knocked over the grill.

The dust devil can be seen in the distance, initially in the upper left corner of the image as it approaches. Then you can see people walking inside before the dust devil causes mischief.
