Tracked 3 areas in the Atlantic as hurricane season begins last month

Another named storm is out of the question as the Atlantic's final month of 2024 hurricane The season begins Friday and the National Hurricane Center is tracking three areas of potential development.

November 30th marks the end Hurricane season in the Atlanticand that can't come soon enough. In the meantime, there are three areas worth watching as we count down the days.

Tents replace some polling places destroyed by Helene in North Carolina

Early voting is underway North Carolinaand the state makes it easier for those affected Hurricane Helene to cast their vote.

After so many towns and streets were washed away by Helene flooding and mudslides in western North Carolina, state officials decided to erect tents to serve as polling places for Tuesday's election.

Seven tents were set up in four of North Carolina's most devastated counties: Buncombe, Burke, Haywood and Yancey. There are four tents set up in Yancey County, while Buncombe, Burke and Haywood counties have one tent each.

Evacuation orders lifted in San Diego after wildfire breaks out near university

All evacuation orders have been partially lifted San Diego after a brush fire broke out near the San Diego State University campus.

The Montezuma/Fairmount Fire had scorched nearly 40 acres as of Thursday afternoon. Authorities ordered the evacuation of several neighborhoods west of the university, including an elementary school.

As of Thursday evening, firefighters said 25% of the fire was contained. Six houses were damaged and no injuries were reported.
