After devastating storms hit the state Saturday evening and Sunday, Oklahoma City residents woke up early Monday morning to tornado warnings across the city.

More severe weather is expected throughout the day, with strong winds, hail and tornadoes possible.

Oklahoma City residents were woken up again Monday by tornado sirens and torrential rain.

It was just the first wave of severe weather expected on Monday morning.

The National Weather Service in Norman said another line of storms, possibly stronger than the one that moved through the area early Monday, is expected to move into central Oklahoma around 10 a.m

The NWS said rain, strong winds (60-80 mph), hail (up to the size of a golf ball) and tornadoes were possible in the second line of storms.

As of 6:45 a.m., the second line of storms moved through Frederick, Snyder and Hobard in western and southwestern Oklahoma.

Several school districts in the Oklahoma City area have canceled classes for Monday.

Moore, Deer Creek, Millwood and Yukon were among the schools that canceled classes.

Edmond Public Schools moved to virtual learning starting Monday.

Mid-Del Public Schools said it would hold back buses and delay the start of the school day.

Oklahoma City Public Schools were already scheduled to be closed Monday for a professional development day.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning until 6:45 a.m. Monday that included Oklahoma City and surrounding cities such as Yukon, Mustang, Moore and Edmond.
