USMNT's Tyler Adams is fit again for Bournemouth against Arsenal

Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams remains on course to make his season debut against Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

“He's missing some playing time but that's normal,” Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola said at a press conference on Friday. “He feels very good, he is doing well, he has a good feeling and he has trained very well during this (international) break with us. He’s ready.”

Adams, the United States captain at the 2022 World Cup, underwent back surgery in early July.

Adams was only able to play in three Premier League games last season due to a hamstring injury that forced him out from September 27th to March 13th. He returned for two games but then did not play for Bournemouth after 30 March due to back spasms.

Adams, 25, played a full game for the United States when it was eliminated from the Copa América with a 1-0 group stage loss to Uruguay on July 1 and underwent back surgery days later.

Adams was not included in newly hired U.S. coach Mauricio Pochettino's squad for friendlies against Panama and Mexico last week. The U.S. defeated Panama 2-0 before losing to Mexico by the same score on Tuesday night.

He could return to the national team for the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal against Jamaica next month.

Adams' US teammate Tim Weah will also return this weekend.

The 24-year-old also missed the USMNT's friendlies in October and has only appeared four times for Juventus so far this season despite struggling with an ankle injury.

However, Juventus coach Thiago Motta said on Friday that Weah was ready to return to Serie A against Lazio on Saturday.

Information from The Associated Press contributed to this report.
