Vikings vs. Rams result, live updates: Minnesota looks to bounce back as the Cooper Kupp era may be coming to an end in Los Angeles

The Minnesota Vikings have fallen out of the NFL's undefeated rankings, and the Los Angeles Rams have gone from expecting Cooper Kupp to play for the first time since Week 2 to considering trading their top receiver. A lot can change in just four days.

The Detroit Lions became the first team to beat the Vikings this year, 5-1, in a 31-29 shootout Sunday in Minneapolis. The Vikings racked up nearly 150 rushing yards in that game – 93 of them and a touchdown from Aaron Jones – and they'll look to do even more this week against a Rams defense that ranks 30th in the league against the run ( and Aaron Donald is not walking through that door).

The Rams may be looking to the future as the team is reportedly acquiring Kupp on the trade market. They are reportedly seeking a second-round pick in return and are willing to retain a portion of his salary for this season. Kupp hasn't played for the 2-4 Rams since suffering an ankle injury in Week 2, but coach Sean McVay expects him to be available for Thursday night's game against Minnesota.

Live7 updates

  • Vikings move the ball

Justin Jefferson had two catches for 27 yards on the Vikings' first drive, while Aaron Jones ran three times for 18 yards.

  • Kam Curl is out due to injury

Rams safety Kam Curk is on the ground after a tackle on Justin Jefferson. There is an injury time-out.

  • The Vikings receive the opening kickoff

Minnesota gets the ball on offense early in the game.

Ethan Evans takes the kickoff into the end zone for a touchback. The Vikings start at their 30-yard line.

  • Todd Gurley at the Rams' home

Todd Gurley played five of his six seasons with the Rams organization. In 73 games, he passed for 5,404 yards and 58 touchdowns.

Gurley won Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, was named to three Pro Bowl teams, was named Offensive Player of the Year and was a two-time first-team All-Pro selection.

  • Justin Jefferson's first four seasons put him in excellent company

  • WRs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are active for the Rams

The Rams get two big weapons back in their passing game on Thursday night, with receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua both active.

Kupp has missed the Rams' last four games after injuring his ankle in Week 2. Nacua injured his knee in Week 1 and was sidelined for the last five weeks.

As Frank Schwab writes, the Rams now face some decisions regarding their roster:

“Thursday’s game could change the way the Rams think about the next few weeks, and it could also change the NFL landscape. There have been reports that the Rams have discussed a Kupp trade with teams. Whether they win on Thursday night and improve to 3-4, or whether they lose and fall to 2-5, could have an impact on whether they become more aggressive in shopping Kupp – and perhaps even Stafford – or on him “Hold on in hopes that a healthier offense pushes them into the playoffs upon his return, he could also influence trade talks.”

  • Vikings Rams inactive
