“We didn’t offer them good enough football last year”

Carr, however, pointed out that two weeks of production in Week 3 doesn't mean much.

“Obviously you see the stats, you see the numbers for the entire offense, what it's looked like in the past and all that stuff, and that's cool,” he said. “But at the same time, that doesn't mean anything this week.”

Last season, the Saints averaged 23.6 points per game, which was 10th in the NFL and probably a surprise to some in hindsight. It's an indication that the talent was there, it was just sparked this season when players like Carr, Alvin Kamara and Rashid Shaheed returned and performed better.

Kubiak's signing is undoubtedly an important reason, but Carr also thanks his teammates for their dedicated efforts.

“There's so much to it,” Carr said. “The coaches were incredible and set high standards for us. Our guys worked their asses off.”

All in all, the 2-0 start was so good that many people are talking about the Saints and the fans are excited about the game against the Eagles.

“You can definitely feel the excitement,” he said. “We knew that if we wanted to achieve what we wanted to achieve, the stadium would have to rock. And to do that, we would have to play good football. I'm looking forward to this Sunday and to feeling that atmosphere, for sure.”
