READING TIME FOR TODDLERS IN THE PAPER BOAT: 10:30 a.m Paper Boat Booksellers (6040 California SW).

SOUTHWEST ARTIST SHOWCASE: The Southwest Library (9010 35th SW) is open from noon to 8 p.m., and you can stop by any time through the end of October to see what community artists are showing this year.

PROTEST SCHOOL CLOSURE: The citywide coalition, which gathered at district headquarters before the last school board meeting, is doing it again, saying even the revised plan for five closures is too many. 3:45 p.m. Takeoff at 3rd/Lander.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING: An update on the status of the closure plan as well as the proposed BEX VI and operating levies are part of the agenda for today's meeting, which begins at 4:15 p.m. at District Headquarters, with public comment (the registration list is already full). Starts around 5 p.m. If you don't go to the district headquarters, it will be relayed live PLC TV.

HOMEWORK HELP: 4-5:45 p.m High Point Library (3411 SW Raymond), volunteers can help K-12 students with their homework.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL Open Day: From 5:30 to 8 p.m., prospective students and their families are invited to visit the school (a WSB sponsor) in Burien. You can find the RSVP/registration link in our calendar entry.

FIX IT WORKSHOP: Fix it, don't throw it away! Weekly event, free (donations welcome), 5:30-7:30 p.m West Seattle Tool Library (4408 Delridge Way SW, northeast side of Youngstown Cultural Arts Center).

KRIBBAGE NIGHT: As previewed here, new monthly event, open to all players of all ages, 6:00 p.m. in West Seattle Eagles' Headquarters (4426 California SW).

34TH DISTRICT DEMOCRATS: 6:00 p.m. Pre-Meeting Program, 7:00 p.m. Meeting – Agenda here – at Fauntleroy Church (9140 California SW).
