Why Robin Wright and Tom Hanks didn't hang out on the set of Forrest Gump

Robin Wright's recent experience working with Tom Hanks was very different than the last time they were on set together!

While promoting their new film Here To Today On Monday, October 28, Wright, 58, shared that she wasn't able to spend much time with her 68-year-old co-star Hanks the last time they worked together 30 years ago Forrest Gumpbecause he was always “on the run”.

“We were rushing around making this movie, and every lunch break Tom would run,” Wright recalled of her time on the set of the 1994 film. “I just run wherever they can catch him running. So we couldn’t really spend time together.”

However, the actress added that they had “the best time” syncing up on set.

Wright and Hanks played opposite each other Forrest Gump as childhood friends who later become husband and wife. In the film, Hanks' title character is known for his fast running and ends up running across the country for three years.

Wright shared during her interview Today the collaboration 30 years later HereThe two were able to “spend more time” on set and “get to know each other as adults.”

While shooting HereThe actors were also reunited with the film's director, Robert Zemeckis, who also directed Forrest Gump.

“It was literally like getting the band back together,” Wright said.

Here follows the story of “several families and a special place where they live. The story travels through generations and captures the most relatable human experiences,” reads a summary.

The film uses AI technology to make Wright and Hanks appear younger and older as the story progresses.

Of her experience making the film, Wright said, “I would do anything with Bob and Tom, and when he called and said, 'I don't know if it's going to work, it's never been done before.' And we all just said, “Let’s get in.” ”

At the world premiere of the film At AFI Fest in Los Angeles on October 25, Hanks shared that he and Wright “picked up right where we left off” on set.

“I would say we love each other because we're so easygoing with each other,” Hanks said. “It was a luxury to be able to come here and have the same conversations we've had for 30 years after a moment of 'Hey, that crazy look, can you believe it?'”
