“Will they learn something from this?”: Sanders takes a hit on the Democratic Party after Harris' election loss

Bernie Sanders is worried that the Democratic Party will not learn lessons from its stunning defeat in Tuesday's presidential election.

In a shocking statement released by the Vermont senator on X on Wednesday, Sanders said the party had “failed working-class people.” He said Tuesday's loss of Kamala Harris was merely the harvest of what the party has sown.

“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party that has failed the working class would find that the working class has failed them,” Sanders wrote. “While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.”

Sanders hit the jackpot in his statement by denouncing the lack of universal health care in the United States and rampant income inequality.

Sanders supported Harris throughout the campaign. He encouraged voters to go to the polls, even though he himself opposed Israel's handling of the Gaza war. In his statement Wednesday, he called the Harris campaign's continued support of Israel a mistake.

“Today, despite strong opposition from a majority of Americans, we continue to spend billions to finance the extremist Netanyahu government’s all-out war against the Palestinian people, which has led to the terrible humanitarian catastrophe of mass malnutrition and the starvation of thousands of children. “he said.

Sanders openly wondered whether the Democratic Party would “learn real lessons from this disastrous campaign.”

“Will they understand the pain and political alienation that tens of millions of Americans are experiencing?” he asked. “Probably not.”
