Important events

Lynx 32-20 Liberty, 2:49 left, 2nd quarter: The crowd wants a travel call. It won't happen. Collier scores.

Minnesota is taking a timeout, perhaps to make a number of substitutions – including Courtney Williams returning after a long layoff. The spark plug guard was up for most of the fourth quarter of Game 4. She plays at 110 miles per hour and knows nothing else. (Someone can probably convert that to km/h.)

Time out New York.

It's another terrible start for the Liberty, especially for its two megastars. Breanna Stewart looks tense and took two shots that came up short. Sabrina Ionescu didn't come close on any of her three shots.

At the other end, Courtney Williams is now 1:5. Still, a sweet pass to Collier, who opened the scoring.

Collier leads all scorers with six points.

It all depends…

Or whatever cliché you prefer for a final game in a best-of-5 series where it's all about the winner.

Questions:

1. Will Breanna Stewart And Sabrina Ionescu Recovering from the tough night of shooting in Game 4?

2. Can the Bank of Liberty rise?

3. Will we see another slow start from the Liberty, or will that change now that they are playing at home?

4. For the lynx, can Courtney Williams continue their outstanding postseason?

5. Which coach will complain about the management after this game?

The answers to these questions will determine the answer to the larger question: Will we see a fifth championship for Minnesota or? First Championship for New York?

Beau will be here shortly. Meanwhile, Game 4 went like this:

Bridget Carleton made two free throws with two seconds left and the Minnesota Lynx forced a decisive Game 5 of the WNBA Finals by defeating the New York Liberty 82-80 on Friday night.

The teams meet Sunday night in New York in the first Game 5 of the finals since 2019, when Washington defeated Connecticut.

“The last 40 minutes of the season could be anywhere, we're going to go to war out there and I'm excited,” said Kayla McBride, who led the Lynx with 19 points.

Courtney Williams added 15 points for Minnesota, forcing Liberty stars Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu to have poor shooting nights. Ionescu's shot at the buzzer missed the rim.
